Shopping
The city center offers an excellent range of top quality
shops including the famous El Corte Inglés department
store. There are local handicrafts, such as ceramics from
Agost, bags and wicker baskets from Gata de Gorgos, rugs
from Crevillente, the latest designer clothes, leather goods
and lovely gift shops. |
|
 |
|
The famous promenade
of Explanada
d'Espanya also provides numerous shopping options as
well as great scenery. If you head to the beaches, be sure
to check their environs because there are generally plenty
of souvenir shops around as well as snack stalls for a quick
fix. |
Dining
There are plenty of restaurants, patios, cafés, and fast
food chains throughout the city to cater to Alicante's
constantly growing number of visitors. The nearer the
establishments are to the center, the pricier they usually
get. You can try hunting for eateries around the city's
plazas, the beachfront, and the Explanada d'Espanya. |
Nightlife
As an upcoming Spanish resort, nightlife in Alicante is
no doubt first-rate. The recommended area for nighthawks
are El barrio which is very popular with the young
crowd; La Zona which is located in the street San
Fernando and the environs where stylish bars and pubs are
abundant; Ruta de la Madera, an agglomeration of
friendly bars, breweries and restaurants; and Puerto de
Alicante, a relatively new zone replete with pubs and
socializations. In summer most nightbirds flock to San
Juan Beach and its vicinity to chill out by the sea. |
